The Annual Fund Campaign is a yearly fundraising effort that
allows the University of West Alabama to provide scholarships,
enrichment activities, equipment, and athletic program support
for its students. Last year, the Annual Fund Campaign
generated over $456,000. This successful outcome is
attributed to the support of caring, active alumni who share the
common purpose, mission and dream of UWA. The 2006-2007 Annual
Fund Campaign is your opportunity to give back to your
University. As public tax dollars for higher education
decline, the value of this campaign increases. Gifts to
the UWA Annual Fund Campaign are tax deductible and may be
directed to your specific area of interest. |
Scholarships
Gifts to the UWA Annual Fund Campaign have helped attract and
retain our best and brightest students. Since 1997, over
$580,000 has been raised for scholarships through the Annual
Fund Campaign. |
Enrichment
Many of the cultural and educational enrichment programs taken
for granted on other campuses would be lost if not for Annual
Fund Campaign contributors. Guest lecturers, faculty
colloquia, and off-campus learning opportunities via field trips
and attendance at regional and national symposiums and
conferences have all been funded through Annual Fund Campaign
gifts. |
Equipment
The UWA Annual Fund Campaign has helped to ensure that UWA
students are trained in the use of cutting-edge technology.
Funds from the campaign have provided students computer
laboratories in Business, Liberal Arts, Education, Natural
Sciences and Mathematics, and Nursing, along with microscopes
and high-tech instrumentation for science labs. These
funds have also provided wireless Internet access in all
residence halls, as well as the Student Union Building, the
Cafeteria, and many classroom buildings. |
Athletics
UWA is very proud of its vibrant sports program, which has a
long tradition. Student athletes at UWA serve as visible
ambassadors, both inside and outside the competitive arena.
The Annual Fund Campaign has specifically helped with the
purchase of equipment and uniforms as well as the expense of
team travel. This funding helps keep state-appropriated
dollars in the classroom. |
