During the fall of 2003, the Office of Institutional Advancement, in conjunction with the National Alumni Association, established a student organization called "Livingston's Early Alumni Development" or "LEAD."  The purpose of the LEAD organization is to develop and strengthen relationships between UWA students and the National Alumni Association.  LEAD members are given opportunities to serve as ambassadors for the alumni association, and they also assist alumni chapters in planning and conducting events and fundraisers.  Through this organization, LEAD students are given the opportunity to network with UWA alumni from all over the Southeast.
