University of West Alabama alumni gathered Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at Bridgeport State Park in Camden, Alabama for their annual fish fry and meeting.
     Jean Creswell welcomed everyone to the annual event.  After a blessing and a wonderful meal, a brief business meeting was held.  Jean Creswell was elected President.  The Scholarship Committee consisting of Gladys Mason, Jean Creswell, David Crawford and Andre’ Robinson was recognized for their committee to selecting the scholarship award winners for the Fall Semester 2008.    
     The following students were recognized and presented scholarship certificates from The University of West Alabama. Glen Bridges presented the Gordon Bridges Scholarship to the following students:  Rashonda Alexander, Danica McCall, Keonna Hudson, Kyla Candies, Jason Ray, Braxton Cook and Chris Stone. Gladys Mason presented the Gladys Mason Scholarship to the following students:  Whitney Martin, Anne Goggans, Buddy Buchanan, Hank Mosley, Steve Jackson, Molly Jackson, J.D. Bonner and Phillip Merryman. TyAnne Stone, Director of Alumni Relations, gave a brief overview of what has been happening in the Alumni and Dr. Richard Holland, President of The University of West Alabama, gave a State of the University update.
     There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned.
